BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Steven Münchenberg
B. Sc. Hons., LL.B. (Hons)
Non-Executive Director

Mr Münchenberg is Group manager, Government Affairs & Public Policy, with the National Australia Bank, responsible for managing the relationships between the Bank and all levels of government in Australia. Prior to this, he was Deputy Chief Executive of the Business Council of Australia, the public policy research and advocacy body representing the chief executives of the top 100 corporations in Australia. Mr Münchenberg has also been Chief Executive of a not for profit organisation charged with promoting the positive aspects of environmental management in the minerals and energy sectors and has worked at senior levels within the Commonwealth Government. Mr Münchenberg has Honours degrees in Science and Law and is on the board of a number of community organisations.

 

Nigel Murphy
B. Sc. Hons., M. Env Sc., MEIANZ, CEnvP
Managing Director

Mr Murphy manages the day-to-day operations of the company, its people and resources. Mr Murphy started his career with CRA (Rio Tinto) in 1985 before co-founding Earth Systems, an environmental research and consulting company, in 1993 with Dr Jeff Taylor. At Earth Systems, Nigel has been responsible for business management and development as well as providing technical and project management skills. He has a strong knowledge of the environment, water and mining sectors. Nigel has worked in more than 10 countries throughout the Asia-Pacific region and has been responsible for the establishment of operations and companies in a number of these. He is also a Director of Earth Systems Lao, chairman of Earth Systems China and has honorary roles as the Chair of the Certified Environmental Practitioner Board of Australia and New Zealand (CEnvP) and the Victorian National Councillor of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand. He has also been a Director of Environment Business Australia.

 

Dr Jeff Taylor
B. Sc. Hons., Ph.D., MEIANZ, CEnvP
Technical Director

Dr Taylor’s key responsibility is the development of the company’s technology and IP portfolio. He is chief technical advisor and lead creator of NBT. Dr Taylor is responsible for the development of strong linkages with Australian based research institutions of international standing. He has more that twenty years experience in the environmental and mining sectors as an earth scientist, and has specialist expertise in environmental geochemistry, the development of environmental solutions to water related issues, and the business application of applied R&D outcomes. Dr Taylor has worked throughout the Asia-Pacific region and is recognised as one of Australia’s foremost environmental geochemists and an expert in the management of acid drainage. He is a well recognised innovator in the environmental field.
